Licensing of FlyTreeView for ASP.NET 2.0
Link Posted: 23-Apr-2007 02:21
Hello,

we would like to buy the Company License  (5 domains).

We are 4 developers in our team. Does I understand correctly that we have to buy only the licenses for the production domains but can develop and test without additional licenses at our dev computers?

Thanks for your answer.

Felix

Yes,

Domain-based licenses do not require additional licenses for development computers.

Thanks.

Hi,

Was so glad to find this post because I myself am having troubles figuring out which license to purchase. But I still need confirmation from you guys.

My scenario:
+ Evaluation version has expired.
+ One production domain. The component is being used in one web application only.
+ 2 developers. We need to be able to work on the same project utilizing Flytreeview for ASP.NET 2.0 from our own development PCs (2 PCs)
+ Not sure about future developments that will require the use of this component, so we would like to be able to maximize the purchase (meaning save as much as possible)

Question:

Which license model should we go for?

I figure it's either Domain License or Team License. But based on our scenario, which should be the best purchase?

Please give me a quick reply today or tomorrow: radliwag@hotmail.net.

Thanks and more power!

RADL,

Yes, both Single Domain and Team Licenses cover your case.
Main difference is in support/updates period.
Single Domain License (as any other domain-based) provides only ONE MONTH of updates/support.
Team License provides ONE YEAR updates/support period. From this point, Team License is better.

You may also want to consider Enterprise License which does not have limits on developers/domains, and also provides full source code of the control.

I've completed some development work with the FTV for .NET 1.1 and the license has since expired.  I have since purchased and installed a single domain licence of FTV for .NET 2.0 however I'm still getting an error message:
"9Rays.Net FlyTreeView for ASP.NET evaluation period has expired."

How do I fix this issue?

Cheers,

I've replaced the DLL and the XML file.  This fixed the problem.
