I keep on getting Specified cast is not valid, when i click in nodes > (Collection) via the property window.

Cannot create nodes.

May be you have different version of FlyTreeView in your project.
Try to remove the reference and add it again to your project. As well as try to remove the FlyTreeView tags and recreate them.
